StaffBrian Wood Brian was born and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from St John’s University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, he enlisted in the U. S. Army in March 1970 as a German language trained Counter Intelligence Special Agent. He served in Germany until he was discharged in July 1973. He began his Civil Service career as an Army Materiel Command Supply Intern at Red River Army Depot (RRAD), Texarkana, TX in September 1973. After a year at Red River Army Depot, Mr. Wood was assigned to the Depot System Command, as a Supply Systems Analyst where he served for five years as a Depot Manager and Budget Officer for Supply. His next assignment was to the 200th Theater Army Materiel Management Center (200th TAMMC) in Zweibruecken, Germany where he served for five years as the Division Chief over the Theater Authorization and Analysis Division, which maintained equipment authorization data for the European theater. Mr. Wood returned to the Continental United States (CONUS) for sixteen months to a position in the Logistics Automation Directorate, U.S. Army Logistics Center (LOG Center), Fort Lee, Virginia where he worked as Team Chief over the development of the Standard Army Ammunition System Level 4 (SAAS-4). He departed this position in January 1985, returning to the 200th TAMMC in Germany as the Deputy Director, Readiness Plans and Operations, responsible for managing theater readiness, writing war plans and directing current operations. In January 1988, he returned to Fort Lee where he worked for six months in the newly formed office of the Project Manager for Automated Retail Logistics which managed tactical logistics automated systems. His next job was back in the LOG Center as a Division Chief over the development of the Combat Service Support Control System and the Table of Distribution Allowance (TDA) Standard Army Management Information Systems. In February 1990, he became the Deputy Director for the Logistics Automation Directorate, which is now the Enterprise Systems Directorate. He has served in this capacity for seventeen years as a recognized expert in logistics automation. Mr. Wood retired from Civil Service after working for the Army for 37 years. During his tenure with the Army, he amassed 30 graduate credits from Shippensburg State College in Shippensburg, PA. Brian is married to Martha, his wife of 36 years. They have two daughters, Melisse and Dawn; two sons, Brendan and Patrick; and four grandchildren, Tyler, Sydney, Aydan, and Blaine. |
